Discover Reimagining Heritage: our 2027 events programme

What does it mean to give a historic building a new lease of life? How can we make sure our historic places continue to serve communities, inspire people and thrive for generations to come?

Winsford Hospital, The Landmark Trust

From January 2027, Historic Buildings & Places (HB&P) invites you to explore these questions through our new events theme: Reimagining Heritage. Our programme of online talks and in-person visits will uncover the innovative and inspiring ways historic buildings and places are being saved, adapted and brought back into use.

From remarkable rescue projects to creative new uses, we’ll explore how heritage can remain relevant in a changing world, and how the buildings we inherit can become an important part of our future.

Whether you’re passionate about architecture, interested in conservation or simply curious about the stories behind the places around you, our events offer opportunities to learn from inspiring projects, hear from the people making a difference and connect with others who care about our shared heritage.

Reimagining Heritage will run throughout 2027, with further online talks and in-person visits exploring a range of projects and places. Other programme highlights will include visits to Redruth Buttermarket and The Crux in Grimsby, with more exciting destinations to be announced.

Our programme will also include dedicated casework review sessions in January and November, offering insight into HB&P’s work to protect historic buildings and places. Our online AGM, for members, and Annual Lecture will provide further opportunities to hear about HB&P’s work and hear from leading voices in heritage.

Some events are still being finalised, so keep an eye on our website for further announcements and booking details.

At HB&P, we believe historic buildings and places are not simply remnants of the past. They are living parts of our communities, with the potential to contribute to our future in meaningful and unexpected ways.
