We will be welcoming as our speaker Colin Thom, director of the Survey of London, a long-running series of scholarly volumes documenting the buildings of London past and present, their development, architecture, history and associations.
Internationally acknowledged for its authority and accessibility, it has no parallel in any other world city. The talk will illustrate some of the survey’s most recent work and address the challenge of retaining the series’ traditions, identity, relevance and thoroughness while responding to London’s shifting character and fresh ideas about how its history should be presented.
In addition to the lecture, we will be congratulating the winners of the 2020 and 2022 Stephen Croad Essay Prize and be inviting them to speak about their winning essays.
Tickets: £6 members/£9 + fees for non-members. Please register for the event through Eventbrite.
