  • 11:30 - 16:30

Come along for an outing of discovery in Halifax, Yorkshire on Friday 6 October 2023 at 11:30am.

Halifax is a fascinating town which boasts impressive Victorian architecture and an extremely important role in England’s industrial heritage.

We will start our visit with a bespoke tour of the Calderdale Industrial Museum, followed by a tour of the nearby Piece Hall, a magnificent Grade I listed building which is the only remaining Georgian cloth hall in the world. During our tour of the Piece Hall, we will also hear about its multi-million pound conservation and transformation prior to its reopening in 2017.

After this, we will head to Halifax Minster, for a historical and architectural tour of this stunning church and resting place of English diarist Anne Lister. Originally built during the Middle Ages, the interior was significantly altered during restoration in the late 19th century by Sir George Gilbert Scott.

Refreshments at the Calderdale Industrial Museum and Halifax Minster are included, and there will be a break for lunch (lunch not included).

Tickets: £19.50 members / £27.50 non-members
