Sir John Soane’s drawing office is a small yet significant space. An architectural marvel designed to give the appearance of a floating room, suspended independently from the main walls of the museum, it is also the earliest surviving example of a working architectural office, complete with the desks and drawers that have remained unaltered since they were used by Soane and his pupils.
The online talk will be given by Helen Dorey, Deputy Director and Inspectress of the Museum. She will be sharing the Soane Museum’s process of restoration, including new discoveries from within the space. This is an exclusive opportunity to take a glimpse of the drawing office before it opens to the public.
Tickets are £4 for members and £7+fees for non-members. Tickets can be purchased through our Eventbrite page.
