John is an experienced accountant who has worked across both commercial and charitable organisations, including senior finance roles in London at Clifford Chance, Boston Consulting Group and Brunel University. He has substantial governance experience, having served as a Trustee of AQA and the Higher Education Academy. He is currently Treasurer of Citizens Advice Westminster and Vice Chair of Highgate Cemetery.

John was particularly attracted to Historic Buildings & Places by its current review of purpose and strategy, including the Future Lab work, and the opportunity to help shape the organisation’s future direction. He brings particular experience in helping boards exercise effective financial oversight, monitor risk and make well-founded strategic decisions.
