Bob has been involved continuously professionally in front-line public and private sector heritage management since 1979 and was awarded the MBE for services to historic building conservation in 1999. He has been Managing Director of his own heritage consultancy company since 2012. He has particular expertise in buildings-at-risk and heritage enforcement issues. For five years he was the Standing Special Heritage Advisor to the House of Commons Culture, Media and Sport Committee. He is is a member of both the Policy and Education, Training and Standards Committees of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation and is currently the Heritage Advisor member of the St Edmundsbury & Ipswich Diocesan Advisory Committee. He has also published widely on historic building conservation matters.
