Good Hope Estate, located outside of Falmouth on the northern part of Jamaica, is one of the many places in the country where built heritage is intrinsically tied to a long history of colonialism and forced labour.

Ke Vaughn Harding presents ‘A Village at the Foot of a Hill: Preserving Legacies of Resilience at Good Hope Estate, Jamaica’, a presentation focusing on the interpretation of the lives of enslaved people at the Estate.

His talk looks at the way in which heritage professionals on the island have long conveyed a recognition of the transformative power of appropriating colonial heritage for speaking the truths of hardship, and the triumph over it.

Discover a fascinating insight into the history of the Good Hope Estate. An talk not to be missed.
