We are delighted to present 'Restoring Merthyr Tydfil’s Unique Victorian Synagogue: Preserving the Jewish Heritage of Wales' on Thursday 12th March 2026, 6–7pm (online).

Join HB&P and the Welsh Jewish Cultural Centre for a fascinating discussion about the future of the former Merthyr Tydfil Synagogue — a beautiful listed Victorian building and the only remaining purpose-built synagogue in Wales.

Once at risk and now standing empty, this remarkable building is set to be given a new lease of life. Hear how the Welsh Jewish Cultural Centre, supported by the Foundation for Jewish Heritage, plans to transform the site into a vibrant centre celebrating Welsh-Jewish history, culture, and community.

Discover how this ambitious project will ensure that the Merthyr Tydfil Synagogue, an important part of both Welsh and Jewish heritage, is cared for and enjoyed by generations to come.

Tickets are free (with optional donation) for members and £4 for non-members.

Cancellation policy: Refunds can be provided for cancellations 7 or more business days prior to the event.
