Visit to Sheerness Dockyard

  • 11 June 2025
  • Sheerness Dockyard, Blue Town, Sheerness ME12 1RR
  • 12:00 - 15:00

Join us for an exclusive tour of the historic Sheerness Dockyard and the recently restored Sheerness Dockyard Church on Wednesday, 11th June 2025.

We are delighted to welcome both members and non-members for a special visit to Sheerness.

Led by Andrew Byrne and Will Palin—current trustee and former Chair of the Sheerness Dockyard Preservation Trust, respectively—we will take a close-up look at Sheerness Dockyard Church and hear about its remarkable rescue and restoration. Of particular interest inside the church is the magnificent Sheerness Dockyard model, depicting the dockyard from the 1820s and 1830s, including the Quadrangular Store, which was tragically demolished in 1979.

Following this, we’ll tour the Residential Quarter, including the Grade II* listed Superintendent’s House from the 1820s, and conclude with a rare opportunity to visit one of the private residences at Naval Terrace—both of which are not usually open to the public.

Please note, the event is scheduled to end at 3pm but may run over.

Tickets: Members: £18 / Non-members: £26

Cancellation policy: Refunds can be provided for cancellations 7 or more business days prior to the event.

Access Information: Please note that this event will include a lot of walking and will include climbing some stairs.
